Guru Smt. Tamanna Nair

She has completed Master of Fine Arts (Alankar) from the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay. She has also completed her Bachelor’s degree in Home Science with Arts from the SNDT University (Matunga).

She started teaching Bharatnatyam at the age of 14 & did Nattuvangam for various programs at a very young age. She is very subtle in her Abhinaya as well as Nritta. She is very Firm with the Talam. She is also a good Carnatic Vocalist.

She has also has learnt folk dances & has also conducted workshops for the same. She has conducted lectures and demonstration workshops for SNDT women’s College, Pune Fine Arts, Ahmedabad Cultural Centre, Baroda Centre & Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay Vashi. She has choreographed for many cultural programs as well.

Besides dance she is also a very good dubbing artist. She has dubbed for many movies in regional languages like Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, etc. She has dubbed for the famous cartoon 'Tweety' in Hindi for Cartoon Network. She has also dubbed for some of the cartoons on Hungama TV and Pogo channel.

Her passion for Abhinaya (Expressions) took her to the field of Acting. She started her acting career from Children’s Play. She first acted in four Marathi plays written, directed, and produced by her mother Mrs. Poonam Murdeshwar. She also acted in some commercial plays in Hindi and Marathi. Some of them are Jau Bai Jorat, Gangubai Matric, Nari Jhalya Bhari, Buddha Hoga Tera Baap, Jaanch Padtaal, etc.

She also has acted in movies like Char Deewane Aur Ek Deewani Bhi, Marathi film Dhava Dhav with Actor Bharat Jadhav and Arun Kadam, and her recently released movie 'Navra Majha Bhavara' where she has played the lead role with Actor Dr. Nilesh Sabale Currently she teaches Bharatnatyam at Payal Nritya-Natya Niketan at Thane which was established by her Mother Guru Mrs. Poonamtai Murdeshwar 45 years ago. She also teaches  Bharatnatyam at Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Vashi. Has teaching experience of 18 years. Her dream is to bring this art form to a wider audience without losing its aesthetic value and cultural integrity. She
continues the centuries-old tradition of passing on this divine art form to the next generation by training students who have the dedication and passion for it.
