Vid. Geeta Sirisha is a Bangalore based Bharatanatyam artiste. Apart from being a performer, she is also a choreographer, teacher and an art-enthusiast.

Putting aside a lucrative career in engineering (Sirisha has a Bachelors degree in Engineering from Bangalore University and is a gold medalist in MBA from Kuvempu University,) she completely delved into this fascinating world of bharatanatyam. She currently runs her own dance school “Nataraja Arts Academy” in Bangalore and also imparts knowledge to many foreign students through online medium.

Sirisha’s training in bharatanatyam began under Guru Sri. K R S Prasanna. She later trained under Gurus Sri. Kiran Subramanyam and Smt. Sandhya Kiran. Her quest for knowledge led to Smt. Meenakshi Srininvasan, Chennai under whom she is currently mentoring.

“Dance is my life and my life is my dance,” says Sirisha. What began as a childhood passion has now transformed into a life-long journey preserve, pursue and propagate this wonderful art-form.

With several performances at various prestigious platforms and many Bharatanatyam productions to her credit, Geeta Sirisha is a perfect example of heart over mind. “Shringara – Shades of Love”, “Muvva Ramadasu Keertanams,” “Dashavataram,” “Mohana Krishna” are some of her productions which have received critical acclaim. “Senses of life – a life’s story” is a production that premiered during the first lock down in the initial stage of pandemic, when the digital medium was still in its nascent stage. It was probably the first dance production by any artiste to come out during the pandemic. She was also a part of the “Nartana Keertana” project which explored the lesser-known compositions of Saint Annamacharya, hosted by the Silicon Andhra University, California. She is a graded artiste of the Doordarshan and an empanelled artiste of Spicmacay. She completed her Vidwath exam in bharatanatyam with distinction conducted by the Karnataka State Board.
